MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Montana State University Billings women's soccer team lost at Western Oregon University Saturday, 2-0 Saturday.

The Wolves (5-2-3, 3-2-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) struck early with their first goal coming in the second minute of play. Savannah Bogan scored off an assist from Makana Pundyke beating Yellowjacket goalie Megan Wade to take the lead.

Montana State Billings countered quickly with a shot by Chelsea Shuman that missed just right of the goal in the fourth minute. The Wolves outshot the Jackets 6-3 in the first half, and led 1-0 going into the break.

Coming out of halftime, Pundyke who assisted on the first goal, scored unassisted in the 57th minute. She stuck the ball from the top of the box and put it away in the bottom right of the net. The Jackets managed two more shots in the second half but neither found their mark.

"Disappointed with the result, but happy with the players who came off the bench," MSUB Head Coach Wojtek Krakowiak said. "They lifted the team and created a lot of chances. They played with a lot of passion."

Western Oregon outshot MSU Billings, 13-5 in the game, and also had six corner kicks to the Yellowjackets' one. Wade recorded two saves and now has a mark of 1-1. while the Wolves' keeper, Amanda Rose Johnson, had three saves and is now 3-2-2.

The Yellowjackets (3-4-1, 2-4-0) travel to Nampa, Idaho, for a matchup with Northwest Nazarene Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. Live video and Stats for the match can be found at MSUBSports.com.
