BILLINGS, Mont. – Another unmatched performance has earned Montana State University Billings women's basketball senior Alisha Breen her second straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week award and third of the season overall announced by the conference office Monday.
 
Breen scored 49 points, broke the MSUB career free throw record, and led the Yellowjackets to a pair of victories to stay perfect at 9-0 on the season. "Alisha's stellar and consistent play has been phenomenal," said MSUB head coach Kevin Woodin. "It is extremely rare to see someone perform at this high of a level for such a long time, however, nothing Alisha accomplishes surprises me. Her constant commitment to improving her own game while doing whatever it takes to help her team win is what i am impressed by the most."
 
With the 'Jackets trailing 47-46 and five minutes to go in the fourth quarter against Rocky Mountain College, Breen erupted for 14 points the rest of the game to lift MSUB to a 62-57 victory. Her back-to-back threes jolted MSUB to a six-point swing, proving to be the key moment down the stretch.


 
She finished with a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double against the Bears, and matched a career high with five steals in the game. The double-double was Breen's third of the year, and was the 10th of her career.
 
On Saturday against Providence, Breen broke the MSUB career free throw record in the second quarter, and notched her fourth 20-point game in-a-row as she finished with 26 in the 87-65 rout of the University of Providence. Breen also had six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 27 minutes, and moved into the top-20 in GNAC history in career points with 1,411. Breen's career point total is also ninth-best in MSUB history.
 
Overall on the week Breen shot 62.5 percent from the field (15-for-24), 44.4 percent from 3-point range (4-for-9), and made 15 of 16 free throws to keep her percentage from the line on the year at 93.2. Breen's career 3-point field-goal percentage of 36.6 is fifth-best in school history, and her career free-throw percentage of 80.9 is fourth highest.
 
Entering this week, Breen is No. 11 in the NCAA Division II in scoring with 22.3 points per game and is tied for No. 7 in the country with a 3-point field-goal percentage of 50.0 (22-for-44).
 
The Yellowjackets prepare for the Oahu Christmas Classic, which runs Saturday through Tuesday in Honolulu, Hawaii. MSUB faces No. 7 Drury University Saturday morning, Harding University Sunday morning, and finishes the tough three-game NCAA Division II stretch against Hawaii Pacific University on Tuesday.
