Feature Story: For Jake Mills, passion for baseball stems from unique father-son connection as umpires

2015: Made 18 appearances and recorded a save utilized in a long-relief/spot starting role…posted an ERA of 6.37 with 50 strikeouts in 53 2/3 innings pitched…held a 4-2 record…allowed just one run over final 12 innings pitched, during which he struck out nine, walked one and gave up just nine hits…academic all-conference selection…ninth-best career ERA in MSUB history at 4.88…tied for ninth-most strikeouts in MSUB history with 76…tied for seventh in MSUB career appearances with 38 and in wins with 8.

2014: Named second-team all-conference...had 20 appearances with one start…pitched 42 1/3 innings with a 4-3 win-loss record…recorded a 2.98 ERA…threw 28 strikeouts…No. 1 on the team in ERA.
 
Miles Community College: In 2013 made nine appearances and posted a 6-0 record with 48 strikeouts…registered a 3.03 ERA, while only allowing 53 hits in 59.3 innings…during freshman campaign in 2012 went 6-3 with a 4.40 ERA in 58.2 innings on the mound...also recorded six complete games and three shutouts.
 
Burley High School: Played Legion baseball while also lettering in football for three years and basketball for two…in 2012 helped lead the Burley Green Sox to a State Championship and second place in the Northwest Region…earned all-state and all-conference honors in 2010 and 2011…in 2011 recorded a .492 batting average with 22 RBIs, four home runs, a 2.92 ERA and an 8-1 record on the mound…also earned all-conference honors in football in 2010 and 2011.named second-team all-conference.
