2018-19 Yellowjackets GNAC Players of the Week
Award Winner Description

Fredrickson was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday for the fourth time in his career, and the first time this season. The righty is coming off an eight-strikeout performance last Friday against Concordia, winning a game that clinched the Yellowjackets' fourth regular-season title in the last five seasons.

20058 Cipriano got on base in 16 of 20 plate appearances (.800) to lead the Yellowjackets to a four-game sweep of Central Washington. The slugger went 9-for-13 at the plate (.692) with a double, three home runs, and eight RBIs. He also scored nine runs, was hit by a pitch four times, and drew three walks.

Garcia Garcia hit .579 (11-for-19) with a double, two triples, four RBIs, and five runs scored. He went 7-for-10 in Friday's doubleheader, and overall helped the Yellowjackets stay in first place in the GNAC by taking 3 of 4 games at home against Northwest Nazarene University.

setian Setian went 6-for-18, with five of his hits going for extra bases (2 HR's and 1 grand slam) en route to a slugging percentage of .833 in the four-game set.

Slice The Kalispell native went 9-for-16 (.562) in MSUB's four-game series victory over Saint Martin's University at Dehler Park, and led the team with eight RBIs.

Hafer Senior Shaelyn Hafer notched a personal best score of 73 in the opening round of the Winona State Warrior Invitational in Las Vegas.

Peterson
The fifth-year senior's big weekend started in his very first at-bat, when he drilled a two-run home run to cap off MSUB's five-run first inning in the series opener on Saturday. Peterson then hit a grand slam on Sunday in Game 3, and finished the series with a team-high eight RBIs. He batted .385 (5-for-13), reached base at a clip of .556 thanks to drawing five walks, and posted a slugging percentage of .846.

Molnaa
The senior right-hander authored a three-hit, nine-inning shutout of Saint Martin's University on Sunday, helping the Yellowjackets win 6-0 and climb to the top of the GNAC standings with a four-game sweep of the Saints.

Zimmer Brooks Zimmer became the first player in Montana State University Billings baseball history and just the fourth in Great Northwest Athletic Conference history to record three saves in a weekend series.

linebarger Linebarger put together an incredible series at the plate, getting on base in 13 of 20 plate appearances (.650) while batting 10-for-17 (.588) and slugging .882. The second baseman had two doubles and a home run, and scored eight times while driving in three.

Barkley Barkley locked up his first collegiate victory, with six shutout innings in the team's 4-1 triumph in Game 2. The left-hander struck out eight batters while walking just two, and gave up only four hits while throwing 95 pitches.

Etheridge The true freshman from Grants Pass, Oregon, struck out five batters, while walking seven and allowing one unearned run on an error in the 8-1 Game 2 win on Friday. It was the 26th no-hitter in GNAC history and the third in the conference this season.

Cip Cipriano went 8-for-15 in the four-game series (.533), with four home runs, nine RBIs, seven runs scored, and 22 total bases. He posted an on-base plus slugging percentage of 2.078, after reaching at a clip of .611 and slugging an incredible 1.467. Cipriano also had a pair of doubles in the series, while drawing two walks and also being hit by a pitch.

girard
Girard (Dillon, Montana) set an MSUB school record for indoor high jump last weekend when he cleared six feet, nine inches. He bested Chuck Carr who jumped six feet eight inches in 2017. Girard landed in second place overall in high jump in Nampa, behind only Hunter Simonsen of Division I Utah State, who cleared seven feet, zero inches. Girard also holds the MSUB outdoor school high jump record, which he set last spring at six feet, 7.5 inches. His NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark is tied for No. 18 in Division II this year. Girard is also in a tie for seventh on the GNAC all-time list.

shelley The Shoreline, Washington native put together her first collegiate double-double in Tuesday's 48-47 win over Maryville University, as she scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. She followed that with eight points and nine boards in Wednesday's 89-66 defeat against No. 21 Angelo State University.

Green Green had a career high 34 points Saturday night, helping the Yellowjackets to a 96-85 victory over Rocky Mountain College at home.

Hovland Hovland (Billings, Montana) is fresh off cross country season, where he ran five races for the Yellowjackets. In the mile run on Saturday afternoon, Hovland posted a second place time of 4:34.43, finishing behind only Noah Adams of Division I University of Montana by two seconds.

rollins Rollins (Pelham, New York) posted a career high 30 points Saturday night against Alaska Anchorage, helping MSU Billings to a decisive 89-74 victory to remain undefeated in the GNAC standings. Against the Seawolves, Rollins shot 9-for-15 from the floor, including 3-for-7 from three point range, and 9-for-9 from the free throw line. He also added two steals and three rebounds in the game.

green Green (Redding, California) recorded back-to-back 19 point games against California State Dominguez Hills and Black Hills State University for a 39 point weekend total. Green shot 6-for-16 against the Toros including 4-for-8 on 3-point attempts. He also grabbed four assists and made three turnovers while making 3-of-3 free throws. Against Black Hills State, green was 6-for-12 from the floor and 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. Again Green did not miss a free throw and added four assists in the winning effort.

Palomino The Puebla, Mexico, native completed his third career hat trick last Thursday, lifting the Yellowjackets to a 4-2 comeback win at Northwest Nazarene University. All three of Palomino's goals came in the second half, as MSUB erased a 2-0 deficit after 45 minutes and claimed a crucial road win. Though he didn't find the net on Saturday at Seattle Pacific, he led all players with seven shots including three on target, as he absorbed the Falcons' defensive presence during a 3-2 victory for the team.

alvarez Alvarez (Dumas, Texas) played all 10 sets for MSUB at libero and helped MSUB go 2-0 against a pair of challenging conference opponents. Alvarez was integral on the Yellowjackets' back row in a five-set win over Northwest Nazarene Thursday night, then was equally impressive on Saturday night as MSUB grabbed its first win over Central Washington University since 2013.

Kremer A flurry of three goals in two matches has earned Montana State University Billings men's soccer senior Guillaume Kremer the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award announced by the conference office on Monday.

Rhodin Totaling eight saves in two games and notching his first clean sheet of the season over the weekend, Montana State University Billings men's soccer goalkeeper Ludvig Rhodin played his way to Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors announced by the conference office Monday.

Taylor Taylor recorded 36 kills and limited errors to 11 for a hitting percentage of .391. She was especially effective against University of Mary and Western State Colorado. Taylor made 12 kills and had eight blocks against the Marauders in a five set win and posted 10 kills and one error against the Mountaineers.
